Margie Thickstun, the Jane Watson Irwin Professor of English and Creative Writing, presented a paper last month at the 2015 Conference on John Milton in Murfreesboro, Tenn. “Teaching Paradise Lost through Oral Performance” was presented in a session on “Learning in the Miltonic Classroom.”  Thickstun also chaired a conference session.

Since 2010, Thickstun and her English 228 class have hosted a Milton marathon, during which students, faculty, administrators and others read aloud Milton’s epic poem Paradise Lost.

The $400 million campaign marked the most ambitious fundraising initiative in the College's history.
