Sixth grade girls from several area high schools will spend the weekend atHamilton College for Hamilton's third annual Girls and Women in Scienceconference. Women professors and students in the sciences from Hamilton willhost the weekend that will include dinner and a sleepover on Friday evening,and various workshops, demonstrations and presentations on Saturday. Visitingwomen scientists will also participate.
Designed to help increase the appeal of science and mathematics for femalestudents, the conference will provide an opportunity for middle-school girls todo science collaboratively, and will showcase and introduce girls and theirteachers to women scientists at various stages of their careers.
