According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Thomas J. Tull '92 is among three new investors in the future of Steelers football. For the first time, the Rooney and McGinley families, which have owned and operated the Pittsburgh football team exclusively since Art Rooney founded it in 1933, have reduced their shares in the franchise. Tull has acquired a 16% stake, though the Rooney family remains the primary owner.

"The two things I love the most are movies and Steelers football," said Tull in a recent interview with Steelers.com. "The fact that I can be around both is amazing. For me, especially the guys from the 70s, that is like Mount Olympus." Tull has been a Steelers fanatic since he watched the team claim a decisive 16-6 victory over the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IX.

Tull is president and CEO of Legendary Pictures, a film production company based in Burbank, Calif. In 2005, his company struck a five-year, 25-film deal with Warner Bros. Among the films Legendary Pictures has produced under the contract are Batman Begins (2005), Superman Returns (2006), 300 (2007), and The Dark Knight (2008).

Tull professes never to schedule a shoot or production meeting during Steelers game play. He claims never to have missed a snap since DirecTV debuted in 1994.
