Ty Seidule.

Visiting Professor of History Ty Seidule was the guest on a recent episode of “Civil War Talk Radio with Gerald Prokopowicz.” Airing weekly on Voice of America, the hour-long show features interviews with historians and experts about various aspects of the Civil War. In the episode that aired on June 21, Seidule discussed his 2021 book Robert E. Lee and Me: A Southerner’s Reckoning with the Myth of the Lost Cause, his southern roots, and his reason for and commitment to spreading the truth about the Civil War and the Confederacy.

Seidule retired from the U.S. Army in 2020. He recently served as a vice chair of the Congressional Naming Commission that provided renaming recommendations for any Department of Defense property named in commemoration of the Confederacy or anyone who voluntarily served with the Confederate States of America.
