“Middle Child of America,” a video essay by Visiting Assistant Professor of French and Francophone Studies Yen Vu, was selected for an online story slam recently presented by vietnameseboatpeople.org. According to the organization’s website, storytellers were chosen from a nationwide open call for an event in celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage month.
Vu said her essay “touches on being Asian American and the prescription of being exemplary but never exceptional.”
