Christian A. Johnson Distinguished Professor in Global Political Theory Edward S. Walker, Jr. '62 has participated in numerous interviews and panel discussions in the last few months related to U.S. relations with the Middle East.

In October 2007, he served on a panel titled "Managing the Fallout: The Law of Unintended Consequences" at a meeting of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers. In the same month he presented with Daniel Pipes, on a program titled on "Jihad Rising, The Growing Threat of Islamic Terrorism at Home and Around the World" at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) National Summit in Philadelphia.

Walker was interviewed by both Saudi and Egyptian television stations regarding U.S. relations with Saudi Arabia and Egypt in January. The Oregonian also spoke with him on the topic of President Bush's trip to the Middle East. Walker served as a seminar panelist on the impact of Arab-Israeli negotiations on U.S. interests in the Middle East for the National Defense University on Jan. 10.
