Joule Unlimited Inc. has announced John Ward ’82 as its new senior vice president of production. According to Joule, the position comes with several general responsibilities including “overseeing the company's scale-up planning, direction and construction as it advances towards commercial production of solar-derived, renewable fuels and chemicals.”

Ward’s most recent position as vice president of engineering and facilities at Biogen Idec should serve him well as he moves forward with Joule. “John brings considerable expertise to help guide Joule through this next exciting stage of growth, particularly in large-scale construction and all aspects of facilities management," said Bill Sims, president and CEO of Joule. Ward appears equally eager to fill his new role, “"It's an incredibly exciting time to join Joule, a highly-promising company in a stage that perfectly aligns with my background and in an industry that's ripe for transformation.”

At Hamilton, Ward participated in the Men’s Rugby Club and was a member of the Chi Psi Fraternity. He graduated with a BA in physics and went on to earn a BE and ME from Dartmouth College as well as his masters in business administration from the University of Michigan. Ward currently lives in North Reading, Mass., with his wife, Suzanne and children John, Kathryn and Richard.
