Welsh writer and environmentalist Robert Minhinnick will give a poetry reading on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 4:15 p.m. in the Glen House. His book Watching the Fire Eater, which combines these interests, was named Welsh Book of the Year in 1993.
Minhinnick has written several volumes of poetry and his debut novel, Sea Holly, was published in 2007, and shortlisted for the 2008 Ondaatje Prize. He co-founded Friends of the Earth and became the organization's joint coordinator for some years.
He is advisor to the charity, Sustainable Wales and edits the international quarterly, Poetry Wales. This event is sponsored by the Dean of Faculty and the Diversity and Social Justice Project and hosted by the English Department.
