Thomas Nast, the famed cartoonist, is remembered for his lasting contributions to American Pop Culture, which include the republican elephant, the Democratic donkey and Santa Claus. His few oil paintings are highly prized and rarely available, only one has come to auction in the past 12 years. Morristown Public Library and the Thomas Nast society are honored to have aquired such a rare treasure.
