
Professor of History Thomas Wilson presented a paper on Confucian rituals at a conference on the “Spiritual and Intellectual World of 16th- and 17th-century China.”
Sponsored by the Institute for Advanced Humanistic Studies of Beijing University, the conference was held at the site of the Songyang Academy, founded in the eighth century and rising to prominence in the 10th century.
The conference was attended by about 20 scholars from the People’s Republic of China, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Germany and the United States.
