While the Hamilton College Continental women's basketball team returns their leading scorer and four players who started at least nine games for the 11-12 Continentals, youth prevails as the 16-women roster includes three sophomores and seven freshmen.

Junior Jen Munoz (Old Bridge, NJ) is the top returning scorer for Hamilton. Her 8.7 points per game tied for the team lead last year, and her 4.6 rebounds per game ranked her third on the team. Munoz' 45 steals tied her for first on the squad.

Sophomore Anna Jablonski (Buffalo, NY) is the top returning starter last year, starting 19 of the 23 games, second best for the 2001-02 Continentals. Jablonski's 151 rebounds and her 6.6 rebounds per game average were both tops on the team. She was second on the team in scoring last year, averaging 6.7 points per game. Look for her to play an even bigger role in Hamilton's offense this season.

Senior Stephanie Dunn (Ithaca, NY), junior Holly Erick (Portland, NY), and sophomore Tricia Czeski (Amsterdam, NY) all return. Dunn, one of the vocal leaders on the team, led the Continentals in blocked shots last year averaging 1.0 block per game, and her 4.1 rebounds per game placed her fourth on the team. Erick placed second on the team with 4.7 rebounds per game last year and her 18 starts are the most for any returning player. At 6-feet-2, Erick is an imposing figure in the middle. She makes it tough for opponents to match up offensively and defensively. Czeski made an immediate impact last year, averaging 6.1 points per game, and her 38 steals placed her second on the team. With a year of experience under her belt she should play a more prominent role this season.

Avery Anderson (Chappaqua, NY), Melissa Nelson (Oxford, NY) and Larissa Hopkins (Canastota, NY) will add experience and depth to the lineup in 2002-03. Nelson and Anderson saw action in 19 and 18 games respectively in 2001-2002. Nelson can penetrate the lane and create her own shot or spot up and shoot from long range. Anderson provides size down in the paint. Her work ethic and hustle are contagious and rub off on the younger players. Hopkins was a point guard in high school and should see time at that spot this season.

There are seven freshmen on the 2002-03 Lady Continental's basketball team. Alicia Giglio (Utica, NY), Erin Daugherty (Chatham, NJ), and Jessica Gorman (Conway, MA) will add talent and depth to the backcourt. All three were All-League performers in high school and should step in an make an immediate impact this season. Kim Beevers (Adams, NY) will see action at both the guard and forward positions. She was an All-League performer her senior year at South Jefferson High School and won a gold medal at the 2002 Empire State Games. Anne O'Malley (Cranford, NJ), Jessica Pisegna (Lexington, MA), and Sarah Hamilton (Short Hills, NJ) will help aid the experienced Hamilton front court.

After finishing last season 11-12 overall and 7-7 in the UCAA, the 2002-03 Continentals are looking to reach greater heights this year.
