Women's Lacrosse Receives Bid to NCAA Championship
Hamilton College was an at-large selection for the 2017 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship as the 40-team field was announced on May 7.

The Continentals will host a second round game at Steuben Field on Sunday, May 14, when Hamilton will play the winner of Regis College and Salisbury University. The Continentals will host the first round contest between Regis and Salisbury on Saturday, May 13.

Hamilton (12-5 overall) makes its ninth NCAA appearance and it's the program's first since 2015. The Continentals are 14-7 all-time in the event with a national title in 2008, a semifinal appearance in 2009 and a runner-up finish in 2010. Hamilton tied for first place in the NESCAC standings with an 8-2 conference record during the regular season. The Continentals defeated Bowdoin College in a NESCAC quarterfinal and advanced to the semifinals for the third time in six years.
Regis (15-4) went 8-0 in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) during the regular season and earned an automatic bid to the NCAA championship by winning the conference tournament. The Pride edged Elms College 15-13 in the NECC final on May 6.
Salisbury (13-5) posted a 7-1 record and finished second in the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) regular season standings. The Sea Gulls defeated conference regular season champion York (Pa.) College 7-2 in the CAC final on April 29 and earned the conference's automatic NCAA bid.
