Women's swimming & diving seventh after day two of NESCACs
Hamilton College recorded two more provisional NCAA cuts and broke two more school records in the second day of competition of the New England Small College Athletic Conference Championships at Bowdoin College on Feb. 21.
Whitney Rosenbaum '10 swam the 100-meter butterfly in 58.58 seconds to finish in sixth place. Her time was an NCAA provisional mark and broke a six-year old school record. The previous record was 58.89 seconds, set in 2003 by Nicole Knapp '05.
The 800 freestyle relay of Rosenbaum, Kylie Fraser '11, Megan Gibbons '12, and Liz Bucceri '11 recorded another NCAA provisional mark and a new program-best time. The relay finished in 7:49.87, breaking the previous school record of 7:55.53 set in 1995, by over five seconds.
Gabrielle Goione '12 touched in at 1:08.21 in the 100 breaststroke, good for a fifth place finish. Fraser placed seventh in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:00.56.
Hamilton is in seventh place with 621.5 points after two days of competition. Sixth-place Connecticut College has 642 points and Williams Colleg holds a commanding edge with 1,313.5 points. The final day of competition is Sunday, Feb. 22.
