Reapers, a new play by internationally-renowned playwright, John O'Keefe, the Dan Dietrich Playwright-in-Residence at Hamilton College, will have its world premiere in Minor Theater on Thursday, April 14. Reapers is a searing drama about love, family and annihilation, set in a Midwestern farmhouse. With strong language and violence, Reapers is not recommended for children under the age of 13.
Directed by Professor of Theatre Carole Bellini-Sharp with a cast of Hamilton college students, the production runs April 14-16 and 20-23, at 8 p.m. and April 16 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 general public; $3 for seniors and students. For reservations call 859-4057, Monday through Friday 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
John O'Keefe earned an MFA at the University of Iowa, and now makes his home in San Francisco. His plays, which include Jimmy Beam, Chamber Piece, All Night Long, The Saints of Father Lyons, Ghosts, The Brontë Cycle, Times Like These, and Glamour have been produced by theatres such as New York's Second Stage and San Francisco's Magic Theatre. He has worked with the Iowa Theatre Lab and co-founded Berkeley's Blake Street Hawkeyes. Times Like These received the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award in 2003.
