Event Description

The Geosciences Department will host the Centennial Meeting of the New York State Geological Association (NYSGA) on September 20th and 21st, 2025. These meetings are informal gatherings of geologists from around the region that join up to go on a number of guided field trips. The department has hosted a number of meetings over the years, most recently in 1997 and 2011. What makes this  a notable meeting is that the very FIRST NYSGA meeting was organized and hosted by N.C. Dale at Hamilton College in 1925

The 2025 program will be coordinated by Dave Bailey, Winslow Chair of Modern Science and Professor of Geosciences Emeritus (retired) and Barbara Tewksbury, Upson Chair for Public Discourse and Professor of Geosciences Emerita (retired).   Field trips depart Saturday and Sunday from North Lot.
