Event Description

Rabbi Michael Zedek ’68 on Folklore and Stories: A Window to the Soul

Stories are one of the oldest, most powerful ways we make sense of the world. Featuring Rabbi Michael Zedek ’68, this event will blend wisdom and humor as we explore why a single tale can sometimes hold more truth than a mountain of facts. Together, we’ll delve into why certain accounts are unforgettable and shape how we see ourselves and the world around us. Rabbi Zedek will discuss why scholars argue that every narrative is a variation of six or seven ancient plots and explore how different cultures spin the same basic story in completely different ways, providing insights into identity, values, and meaning. Join us if you’ve ever felt a story has changed the way you think or feel, or if you just love the feeling of being swept up in a great tale. This is a virtual event. Registration is required.
