Smith III, Class of 1995, is awarded to that concentrator selected as being most committed to helping other students of computer science through shared learning. The recipient receives the designation of head departmental teaching assistant. |

It is awarded after the first year to students who have demonstrated notably strong characteristics of leadership and who are in good academic standing. |
