During his Hamilton years, Michael Lang ’67 was a habitue, maybe the only habitue, of the Rare Book Room (then known as the Treasure Room), which saw little use by students. That seemed a shame to Lang.

Mian Osumi ’22 currently works as a social media intern for OmniFoods where her tasks include growing its Twitter audience. She will continue her work after graduation at the Hong Kong-based global company that began making plant-based pork for the Asian market.

Retirement is a relative term for attorney Don Shonn ’67. He spent 25 years in private practice, including work in Surrogate’s Court with a focus on estate and elder law. He also served as village attorney and trustee for his hometown of Akron in western New York, and before that worked for 20 years at an environmental law firm.

Instead of heading to the local card store or sending an e-greeting through cyberspace, some Hamilton students crafted hand-printed Valentine’s Day cards in the College’s Letterpress Studio.

The first semester for Hamilton’s Class of 2025 has come to a close, bringing a true intertwining of Hamilton and home for each new student. It’s been a chance for them to grow and change, while still keeping some ties to their previous lives.

Among economics majors, the underrepresentation of women, students of color, and first-generation college students is chronic and widespread, and in 2018, Hamilton’s Economics Department made a significant move to combat the problem. It revamped its curriculum.
