“Hamilton has a small-base network of alumni who love to give back.” That was the message from Adrienne Conzelman ’92, a panelist on the Career Center’s latest “What I Did With My Major” session.

“I’d rather die than suffer another day as one of the obedient, silent ones,” said award-winning poet and writer Jimmy Santiago Baca during his public reading in the Chapel on March 1.

Hamilton’s Program in New York City visited the Museum of Food and Drink (MOFAD) in Williamsburg. MOFAD’s current exhibit, “Chow: Making the Chinese American Restaurant,” dovetails neatly with the NYC program’s food-focused curriculum, which emphasizes the impact of immigration on the development of American cuisine.

In an effort to create learning opportunities about diverse religious traditions, the Hamilton College Chaplaincy recently sponsored “Spirituality 101 Week.” It featured a series of discussions, interactive workshops and informational sessions promoting religious literacy.

John McEnroe, the John and Anne Fischer Professor of Fine Arts, recently discussed his archaeological work on the important Bronze Age Town at Gournia, Crete, in a lecture at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens.

The Hamilton College Town-Gown Fund recently made $64,969 in grants to seven organizations, bringing the total disbursed from the endowment to more than $693,000 since 2001.

Hamilton's Department of Dance and Movement Studies will present its annual Spring Dance Concert on Friday, March 3, and Saturday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m., in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and Performing Arts. The performance will feature Hamilton student dancers and choreography by Hamilton faculty Sandra Stanton-Cotter and Paris Wilcox in addition to guest choreographers Chuyun Oh, David Fernandez, and Catherine Wright.

About 30 students from three classes recently went on a joint field trip to the George Eastman Museum in Rochester, N.Y.

An article titled “Germany in the Crosshairs?” by Alan Cafruny, the Henry Platt Bristol Professor of International Affairs, was published by the Valdai Discussion Club on Feb. 20.

The Peace Corps announced that Hamilton was listed 22nd among small schools on the agency’s 2017 Top Volunteer-Producing Colleges and Universities list. There are nine Hamilton alumni currently volunteering worldwide.
