John McEnroe, the John and Anne Fischer Professor of Fine Arts, recently discussed his archaeological work on the important Bronze Age Town at Gournia, Crete, in a lecture at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens.
McEnroe is bringing our understanding of Gournia into the 21st century using GIS analysis, 3-D photogrammetry and drone-based photography. The town was originally excavated more than a century ago.
While on leave from Hamilton, McEnroe is the Elizabeth A. Whitehead Professor at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens, America’s oldest overseas research institute.
