In its final meeting of the 2025-26 academic year, the Hamilton Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa elected 33 additional members of the Class of 2026.

Five members of Hamilton’s Class of ’26 will be leaving College Hill for classrooms abroad through the prestigious Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship program.

Congratulations to 10 Hamilton faculty members who were approved for tenure at the March meeting of the Board of Trustees. They include Nadya Bair (art history), Charlotte Botha (music), Clark Bowman (mathematics and statistics), Anna Huff (digital arts), Amy Koenig (classics), Heather Kropp (environmental studies), Jack Martinez Arias (Hispanic studies), Arathi Menon (art history), Mahala Stewart (sociology), and Michael Welsh (chemistry).

Assistant Professor of Art History Nadya Bair recently presented “Photography Exhibitions and the Magnum Brand” at the Image Centre at Toronto Metropolitan University.

As the United States prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday, one Hamilton College student is getting intimately acquainted with our nation’s deep and storied history. Lily Watts ’26 spent her summer on the National Mall working as a curatorial exhibition development intern at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. By sifting through troves of ancient documents and designing object display layouts, Watts reanimated the past two-and-a-half centuries of American life in preparation for 2026’s celebration.

Associate Professor of Art History Susan Jarosi and Associate Professor of Biology Rhea Datta are among the co-authors of an article published recently in the journal Natural Sciences Education.

In an email to the Hamilton community on June 16, Dean of Faculty Ngoni Munemo announced the death of Professor of Art Rand Carter on June 12.

“The Jewish Museum of New York in a Global Context,” by Visiting Assistant Professor of Art History Michael Feinberg, was recently published in the Oxford Research Encyclopedia on Religion.

Erin Giffin's publication, Early Modern Replicas of the Holy House of Loreto: Translating Space (Routledge, 2025), is the first comprehensive, cross-cultural study of three-dimensional structural replicas of the Santa Casa, or Holy House of the Virgin Mary, constructed over the 16th through 19th centuries.
