  • Hamilton College achieved a new record Annual Fund in fiscal year 2008-09, with unrestricted gifts from alumni, parents and other sources totaling more than $6 million. A key factor in this success – which is all the more extraordinary in this uncertain economic climate – is the remarkable generosity of alumni from the Classes of 1944 to 2004 celebrating five-year reunions this year. While accounting for 18 percent of Hamilton’s solicitable base, these alumni contributed a full 25 percent of the Annual Fund dollars.

  • Under sunny skies and with seasonably pleasant temperatures, Hamilton alumni came back to the Hill to reconnect with former classmates at Reunions '09. They enjoyed class dinners, arts events, a performance by the Alumni All-Stars Jazz and the annual Winton Tolles golf tournament. Many of this year's 22 Alumni Colleges featured alumni sharing their expertise or interest on a particular topic.

  • Hamilton College will welcome back nearly 1,000 alumni and their guests when it hosts its annual Reunion Weekend, this year on Thursday-Sunday, June 4-7. A full schedule of events will keep everyone busy through a weekend that promises sunshine and comfortable temperatures!

  • Professor of Biology Emeritus Gene Putala will give a Thursday afternoon talk about the rare sprengeri tulip, a self-seeding tulip which has graced our own Root Glen for many years. It remains a mystery how this rare species of tulip appeared at Hamilton, but Professor Putala has several possible theories. Although retired, Professor Putala lives in the area and serves on the Root Glen Advisory Committee. He will share stories about the Root family as well as educate gardners about the beautiful sprengeri which comes into full bloom just in time to welcome alumni back for Reunions!
