Hamilton's 2009 Public Speaking Competition will take place on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 1-5 p.m. in the Chapel. In this annual event students will compete for three different prizes: The McKinney Prize, The Clark Prize, and The Warren Wright Prize. 

Eric Kuhn '09 interviewed the co-author of Twitter Power: How to Dominate Your Market One Tweet at a Time using blogtalkradio.com. Huffington Post included the interview in an entry on its site appearing on Feb. 24. In an Internet-based revival of his "Kuhn and Company" radio program originally heard on WHCL, Kuhn discussed the advantages of Twitter to corporations and individuals with Joel Comm.

Hamilton College finished sixth in the highly-competitive, three-day New England Small College Athletic Conference championships held at Bowdoin College's Leroy Greason Pool on Feb. 22.

Hamilton College won two matches, including a 6-3 victory against Denison University, to capture the Summers "C" Division consolation bracket title at the College Squash Association team championships hosted by Princeton University from Feb. 20 to Feb. 22.

Associate Professor of Art History Stephen J. Goldberg presented a paper titled "Oh Father, Where Art Thou? A Bakhtinian Reading of Luo Zhongli's Father" at An Interdisciplinary Conference: The Status of Theory in Contemporary Chinese Film and Visual Culture held at the University Maryland on Feb. 20.

Tim Elgren, professor of chemistry, presented an invited plenary lecture at the 4th Annual Conference on Applied Learning in Higher Education, held at Missouri Western State University on Feb. 21. The title of his plenary was "Integrating Applied Learning: Forging Direct Links to the Curriculum." He also led a break-out session titled "Research as Teaching: The Teaching of Research."

Hamilton College recorded two more provisional cuts for the NCAA Division III championships and broke two more school records on the second day of competition in the New England Small College Athletic Conference championships at Bowdoin College's Leroy Greason Pool on Feb. 21.
