The Theatre Department presents the fall production, Tragedy: a tragedy, by Will Eno, a one-of-a-kind play that skewers the modern news cycle while capturing the underlying human need to apply order to an increasingly absurd world.

History lover Brian Callahan ’66 went from Hamilton to earn a master’s degree in medieval history, then he began his chosen career of teaching until the meager income forced him into a sharp turn. Callahan went into commercial banking, which he enjoyed until retirement out West pointed him back in his original direction.

Student Assembly (SA) President Amanda Kim ’21 and Vice President Jiin Jeong ’21 led the program that focused on two topics selected by students: mental health and sustainability.

The annual 5K Halloween Hustle run and walk sponsored by members of Phi Beta Chi sorority and Delta Chi fraternity raised $1,512 for the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research on Nov. 2.

Twenty-two Hamilton students displayed posters and gave oral presentations on their research at the Ninth Annual New York Six Undergraduate Research Conference on Oct. 26 at Union College in Schenectady, N.Y.

For Taylor Adams ’11, it really is about the journey and not the destination. “It” for Adams came on May 23 when he conquered Mount Everest and joined an elite club of climbers with type 1 diabetes who have summited Earth’s tallest mountain.

Hamilton’s Mock Trial team traveled to State College, Pa., and competed in Penn State’s 12th annual Happy Valley Invitational on Oct. 24 to 26. It was a challenging tournament with nationally-ranked teams and a great opportunity for Mock Trial members to practice their arguments and debate skills. This was the second tournament of the season for the team, and also the first competition for the majority of the first-year students on the team. It was a valuable experience for them, as they were able to finally compete and experience Mock Trial after two months of practice.

This past summer, numerous Hamilton students watched presidential candidates travel the country debating, meeting voters, and addressing some of the most pressing issues facing America. Peri Kessler ’22, Jarrod Gerstein ’20, Gabrielle Colchete ’21, and Sarine Arzoumanian ’22 did more than follow the action—they were on the ground organizing, fundraising, and spreading the messages of their respective candidates. Through their internships, each student had the opportunity to connect with the American political process and make a difference in the 2020 election cycle.

Hamilton students recently spent a day at the Linwood Place Community Garden in Utica cleaning out the planting beds and preparing the grounds for winter.

While many students spent a recent break at home, a group of 40 students remained on campus to participate in a rigorous two-day event designed to prepare them for careers in finance.
