Friends Gather in Chicago for the Al Ham Birthday Party
More than 1,000 alumni, parents and friends gathered in 26 cities during the week of Jan. 6 – Jan. 13, 2008, to celebrate the birthday of the college's namesake, Alexander Hamilton. The birthday celebration kicked off in Iowa City, Iowa, where the state held its first-ever alumni gathering with a group of about 15 alumni, parents and friends.

New York City celebrated with a group of more than 200 alumni, and not to be overshadowed, Washington, D.C. and Boston had celebrations with more than 70 guests at each.
 
President Joan Hinde Stewart joined the Alexander Hamilton birthday celebrations in Phoenix, Ariz., and Denver, Colo. Rocky Mountain Regional President Julian Scurci '03 was happy to report that the Denver event "was a great success… (Many alumni) appear excited about future (regional) events."
 
Current parents Beth and Don Eugenio P'08, P'10 hosted a celebration at the Saddle and Cycle Club in downtown Chicago and sang a rendition of Happy Birthday to Alexander Hamilton. In an e-mail, Beth mentioned, "We had a great time…We talked the school up quite a bit, and we are sincere in our feelings."
 
Lesley and Joe Urgo, Hamilton's dean of faculty, hosted a reception at their home in  Clinton, and they were joined by nearly 50 friends including several faculty members. Similarly, Maureen Fellows '80 and Jonathan Fellows '80 hosted a reception at their home outside of Syracuse, N.Y. Regarding the reception, Maureen said, "We loved it! It was a great party…"
 
The Providence Alumni Association, led by Regional President George Nehme '79, played host to Professor Ted Eismeier P'10, who offered an Alumni College on the American political process to a crowded room of guests. 
 
In addition to the events previously mentioned, birthday parties were celebrated in Cleveland, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Albany, Buffalo, Charlotte, Hartford, San Diego, London, Rochester, Seattle, Charleston, Philadelphia, Portland, Richmond and Westchester County.
