Twenty-five Hamilton College students have been chosen to serve as Nesbitt-Johnson Writing Center tutors at Hamilton this year.

Established in 1987, the Writing Center provides a place where students confer with other students who are trained to discuss writing.  The 25 Writing Center tutors are nominated by faculty members; those chosen must demonstrate strong writing skills and relate well to their peers. They are considered to be among the best students at Hamilton.  They review such aspects of student work as clarifying ideas, developing a thesis, organizing stages of an argument, and strengthening specific language. Last year the Writing Center tutors conducted more than 2,000 conferences.

This year's tutors are Jamie Abaied '04; Evan Adair '03; Zach Brown '03; Schuyler Chapman '03; Monica doOuteiro '03; JimDuVernay '03; Rebecca Fabricant '03; Courtney Fitch '03; Emily Grim '05; Ashley Herriman '05; Hollis Hyland '03; Elizabeth Jones '05; Sarah Karalunas '04; Jessica Kent '04; Allison Kerbel '05; Emily Kerr '05; Jennifer Kostka '04; Erin Kress '03; Brendan Mahoney '05; Shayna McHugh '05; Mark Mullett '05; Alisa Nichols '03; Kristin Patrick '03; Hannah Stahle '03; and Dan Walker '05.
