Hamilton Association for Volunteering Outreach and Charity (HAVOC) sponsored its 15th annual Dodgeball tournament on Oct. 22. Fourteen teams of 90 students participated and raised over $500 for Team IMPACT. Men's Tennis won first place. Team IMPACT is a non-profit organization that matches children with life-threatening and chronic illnesses with college athletic teams.
Hamilton’s field hockey team has “adopted” a Team IMPACT player, 14-year-old Sophia Johnson of Newport, N.Y. Sophia was diagnosed with medulloblastoma -- a highly malignant primary brain tumor -- in 2007.
Sophia and her family were officially drafted into the Hamilton field hockey program in 2014. Sophia’s parents are Julie and Roy, and she has a sister, Olivia.
