Allison Kerbel, a rising sophomore from North Kingstown, R.I., recently had a short story published in <i>Cicada</i>. Kerbel's story, titled "Identity: Self and Sloth," describes a 7th grade gym class run. <i>Cicada</i> is a bimonthly magazine for teenagers and young adults ages 14 and up.
It features fiction and poetry dealing with the issue of growing up, leaving the joys of childhood behind, and becoming an adult. <i>Cicada</i> also encourages its teen readers to submit their own writing for publication.
