The second Girls and Women in Sports Day, sponsored by Hamilton’s Athletics Department, drew more than 70 local girls to the Field House on Sunday, Feb. 5. The national event celebrates the extraordinary achievements of women and girls in sports.
Participants were divided into two groups - - Kindergarten to 3rd grade, and 4th grade to 8th grade. They explored various sports and learned skills as they traveled through stations run by Hamilton College female student-athletes. The event was designed to introduce girls to a wide range of sports, so they were able to try soccer, squash, softball, golf, field hockey and basketball.
