Jim Nolan '07 and Eric Villanova '06 singled and drove in one run apiece, but visiting Hamilton College lost 10-3 against Williams College in a New England Small College Athletic Conference West division game played at Bobby Coombs Field on April 22.
Nolan has driven in 19 runs this year. Villanova is hitting .333 with 19 hits in 57 at-bats. Matt Hartnett '07 had a hit and scored a run. Jamie Matthews '06 started on the mound and pitched 2.1 innings. Matthews allowed six earned runs on six hits and walked five batters. Nick Scoglio '09 tossed a scoreless 1.2 innings in late-inning relief.
Hamilton (0-9 NESCAC West, 7-21 overall) took a 2-1 lead with two runs in the top of the second inning. Tom Monfiletto '08 scored Pat McGarry '07 with a sacrifice fly to left field and Villanova singled in Hartnett.
Williams (6-3, 20-7) moved in front for good with two runs in the bottom of the inning and added four in the third for a 7-2 advantage. The Continentals scored their final run in the fifth inning when Nolan singled in Jack Maloney '08.
Hamilton tries to return to the win column on Tuesday, April 25, when it travels to Oneonta, N.Y., for a non-conference game against SUNY Oneonta at 4 p.m.
