Baseball cruises past Lesley in Florida

Hamilton College scored seven runs in the top of the third inning and the Continentals went on to post a 10-3 win against Lesley University in a non-conference game played in Winter Haven, Fla., on March 14.

Alex Pachella '15 picked up his first win for Hamilton (2-3 overall) as he allowed one run on three hits in six innings. Pachella walked none and struck out three. Stephen Wright '13 and Mike Affuso '14 pitched one scoreless inning of relief apiece.

The Continentals' offense didn't have any extra-base hits, but finished with 12 singles. Gabe Klein '13 and Glenn de Marrais '15 boasted two hits and two RBI apiece. The hits and runs batted in were de Marrais' first at Hamilton. Lukas Bridenbeck '13 and John Wulf '12 posted two hits apiece, and Steve LaRochelle '14 scored three runs.

John Gosnell was saddled with the loss for Lesley (1-5). Tyler Plourd and Aqib Shah cracked one double apiece. Lesley tried to rally with two runs in the bottom of the ninth.

The Continentals play a pair of non-conference games on Friday, March 16, at Chain of Lakes Park in Winter Haven. Hamilton takes on Mount Saint Vincent College at 11:30 a.m. and then Washington (Md.) College at approximately 3:30 p.m.
