Mike Barsotti '12 pitched a complete game six-hitter to lead Wesleyan University to a 7-2 win over Hamilton College in a NESCAC West Division game at Hamilton's Royce Field on April 20.

Wesleyan (15-13 overall, 4-3 NESCAC West) scored six of its seven runs in the final two innings. The two teams meet again for a NESCAC West doubleheader on Saturday, April 21, at noon.

Barsotti allowed two runs, struck out eight batters and did not issue a walk. Joe Giaimo (Gr.) led the Cardinals' offense with three hits, drove in two runs and scored two others. Sam Goodwin-Boyd '15 collected three hits and drove in a run, and Andrew Yin '15 and Chris Bonti '13 each added a single and an RBI. Alex Meadow '12 had two hits, including a ground-rule double, and David Skura '12 singled twice.

Alex Pachella '15 started on the mound and scattered seven hits over seven-plus innings of work. Pachella allowed one earned run, struck out four batters and did not issue a walk. Tom Moriarty '14 came on in relief in the eighth inning and suffered the loss.

Colin Henneberger '14 singled and drove in both Hamilton runs to lead the offense. Gabe Klein '13 and Tyler Reinhold '15 each singled and scored a run. Sam Fuentes '13, John Wulf '13 and Thomas Merriman '15 added one hit apiece.

Wesleyan jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning when Bonti was hit by a pitch and later came around to score on an error. The Cardinals had good opportunities to extend their lead in the fifth and sixth innings, but Hamilton ended each frame with a double play.

Hamilton (6-21, 2-5) took a 2-1 lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Klein led off with a single through the right side and moved to second base on a sacrifice bunt by Sam Choate '12. Reinhold singled up the middle to advance Klein, and Reinhold moved to second on the throw. One batter later, Henneberger lined a two-out single to right field to bring home Klein and Reinhold.

Wesleyan responded with two runs in the top of the eighth inning to take a 3-2 lead. Giaimo led off with a single up the middle and Skura followed with a single to second base. Both runners advanced on a double steal, and one batter later, Goodwin-Boyd's single to right field scored Giaimo. Yin capped the inning with a squeeze bunt that brought home Skura from third.

The Cardinals tacked on four more runs in the top of the ninth inning for the final margin. Kyle Weiss '12 singled through the left side and Meadow drew a walk. After a double steal, Cimino reached on a fielder's choice and Giaimo followed with a single up the middle that plated Weiss and Meadow. Cimino later scored on an error and Bonti closed the scoring with a single up the middle that drove in Giaimo.
