Hamilton College exploded for eight runs in the top of the ninth inning and recorded a 10-4 win against Sewanee in a non-conference game at Lake Myrtle Field in Auburndale, Fla., on March 15.
 
The Continentals (1-1 overall) earned their first win of the season. A three-game win streak came to an end for Sewanee (4-9).
 
Andrew Perkowski ‘10 started on the mound for Hamilton. Perkowski allowed just three hits over six scoreless innings. Kevin Prindle ‘13 came on in relief in the seventh inning and was replaced later that inning by Donovan Flint ‘11. Flint pitched 1 2/3 perfect innings to pick up his first win of the season. Alex Augustyn ‘10 came on in the ninth and finished off the come-from-behind win.
 
The Continentals scored one run in the fifth inning, but Sewanee took the lead with four runs in the seventh. Hamilton pulled within 4-2 in the eighth and rallied in the top of the ninth.
 
Dan Peters ’13 went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and two RBI to lead the offense. Lukas Bridenbeck ‘13 hit a double and tallied two RBI. Sam Choate ‘12, who was 4-for-6 at the plate, and Justin Atwood ‘11 scored two runs apiece. Grady Vigneau ‘10 hit a double, and Wes Mayberry ‘11 drove in two runs.
 
The Continentals play a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 16, against Bowdoin College.
