Hamilton College baseball player Gabe Klein '13 (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Fairfield University [Mamaroneck HS]) was selected to the 2013 NESCAC All-Conference Team on May 17.

2013 NESCAC Baseball All-Conference Team

Klein is just the second Hamilton baseball player on the all-conference first team. Pitcher Max Foster ’10 accomplished the feat in 2009. Klein, who made the second team last year, is the program's first two-time all-NESCAC honoree.

Klein leads the NESCAC with a school-record 30 walks and ranks second with a .471 on-base percentage. He ranks near the top of the conference with four home runs (second), a .561 slugging percentage (second) and 13 doubles (tie for third). Klein’s .341 batting average led the team and his 42 hits and 22 RBI were tied for the team lead.

Klein worked his way into many of Hamilton’s career record lists in just three seasons. He posted a record .469 on-base percentage, and ranked third in doubles (27) and walks (67) and fourth in batting average (.341).

Klein, a 2012 D3baseball.com New England Region All-Region second team honoree, helped lead the Continentals to a team-record 16 wins this season. Hamilton won one game against each NESCAC West Division foe, including its first victory against Amherst College since 2009 and Williams College since 2007.
