Hamilton College will celebrate Black History Month with a variety of activities. The film GLORY will be shown on Feb. 17th (7 p.m.) and Feb. 18th (9 p.m.) in the Red Pit, sponsored by BLSU.

There will be a special evening of Jazz in the Pub on Feb. 21st.  A jazz flutist will perform an evening of jazz and poetry with Urban Delight, the student poetry group.  This is co-sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs, the department of Jazz, Africana Studies, CAB, BLSU and the Office of Auxiliary Services.

Feb. 23rd and 24th will be the annual Carnivale Celebration co-sponsored by BLSU, LaVanguardia and WIAA (West Indian and African Association).  WIAA is a newly formed organization.  This is Hamilton's attempt to honor this historical event that has occurred annually for over 400 years in Latin American and throughout the Caribbean.  It will be in the Annex on both nights and will include music, food, a talent show, a costume and dance
competition, and a Caribbean Dance Party.
