Professor of Mathematics Debra Boutin and Associate Professor of Mathematics Sally Cockburn published their joint work "Posets of Geometric Graphs" in Ars Mathematica Contemporanea.
In this work Boutin, Cockburn and their co-authors Alice Dean of Skidmore College and Andrei Margea of the University of Texas, investigate the set of all possible straight line drawings of certain types of graphs (paths, cycles and complete graphs); they show that these can be organized into a partially ordered structure. This extends previous work of Boutin and Cockburn on maps between two straight line drawings of graphs that preserves both adjacencies and crossings.
