A Hamilton tradition will be renewed when the College Choir hits the road during spring break, performing in seven Northeastern cities, including Albany, New York, Boston, Ithaca, Philadelphia, Gardner, Mass., and Milltown, N.J. The choir will give performances on:

  • Saturday, March 16, 7 p.m., Cathedral of All Saints, 62 South Swan St., Albany;
  • Sunday, March 17, 4 p.m., Old South Church, 645 Boylston St., Boston;
  • Monday, March 18, 7:30 p.m., Unitarian Universalist Church of Gardner, 66 Elm St., Gardner, Mass.;
  • Tuesday, March 19, 7:30 p.m., The Cathedral of Church of Saint John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue at 112th St., New York;
  • Wednesday, March 20, 7 p.m., Overbrook Presbyterian Church, 6376 City Avenue (City and Lancaster), Philadelphia;
  • Friday, March 22, St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 62 South Main St., Milltown, N.J;
  • Saturday, March 23, 7 p.m., St. Luke Lutheran Church, 109 Oak Ave., Ithaca, N.Y.

All performances are free and open to the public.

Under the direction of G. Roberts Kolb, professor of music and director of choral music at Hamilton since 1981, the choir and College Hill singers will present a selection of both sacred and secular works, ranging from the Renaissance to the present day, including an antiphonal work for two choirs and a selection of folksongs and spirituals.

The Hamilton Choir boasts an uninterrupted tradition of fine choral singing that dates back for over a century. The choir travels regularly throughout the eastern half of  the United States and has undertaken five concert tours in Europe over the last 18 years.
