
Communication majors Lauren DiGregoria '11 and Daniel Hagemeier '11 presented papers at the 68th Annual New York State Communication Association Conference. It took place at Honors Haven Resort in Ellenville, N.Y., and had 140 attendees.
DiGregoria presented a paper titled "Secularization Speculation: The Liberalization of Irish Catholicism Due to Mass Media," in which she described her ongoing research project motivated by a semester in Dublin.
Hagemeier presented his recent work on "Twitter and the Question of Objectivity: How Social Network Sites Influence a Journalistic Norm." Hagemeier's paper was awarded the Top Undergraduate Student Paper and will be submitted to the Association's annual peer-reviewed Proceedings.
