Cross country teams prepare for NESCAC Championships

Hamilton College competes in the 2014 NESCAC Cross Country Championships at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt., on Saturday, Nov. 1.

NESCAC Preview

The 32nd annual meet begins with the men's 8-kilometer race at noon and is followed by the women's 6-kilometer race at 1 p.m. The event features seven nationally ranked men's teams and four on the women's side.

The Hamilton men captured the NESCAC title back in 1988. More recently, the Continentals finished second out of 11 teams at the 2014 New York State Collegiate Track Conference Cross Country Championships on Oct. 25. Hamilton's Ben Yeo '15 is listed as one of the contenders for the NESCAC men's individual title.

The women finished fifth at last year's NESCAC championships -- the program's best showing in the event since they were fourth in 2001. Last Saturday at the 2014 New York State Collegiate Track Conference Cross Country Championships, Lainie Smith '16 finished in third place out of 113 runners.
