Visiting Assistant Professor of Hispanic Studies Irene Depetris Chauvin presented a paper at the Society for Cinema and Media Studies (SCMS) annual conference March 21-25 in Boston.
In “Uses of Cliché in Slacker Cinema,” Depetris Chauvin analyzed the soundtracks of a number of Argentinian youth films and showed that “certain uses of clichés are part of a strategy that points to the weariness and fascism of language.”
