Megan Dean, the Truax Postdoctoral Fellow and Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy, recently received the 2020 Harold N. Glassman Dissertation Award in the Humanities from Georgetown University. The award was presented during a virtual Ph.D. hooding ceremony last week.
According to Georgetown’s website, the Glassman awards “are intended to honor truly distinguished dissertations in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences, with one award available in each of the three broad disciplinary areas.”
Awards presented this year were for students whose Ph.D. was conferred between July 2018 and May 2019. Dean defended her dissertation, “Eating as a Self-shaping Activity,” in April 2019.
