Eight Hamilton College women's rowers have earned 2015 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) National Scholar-Athlete honors.
2015 CRCA National Scholar-Athletes
All student-athletes must have completed their second, third or fourth year of eligibility and rowed in her institution's NCAA boat(s) for a minimum of 75 percent of the current spring races or raced in a regional conference event. The student-athlete's head coach must be a member in good standing of the CRCA as of May 1, 2015. The student-athlete must own a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better through the fall semester for the current competition year.
Hideko Nara '15 and Jessica Pedersen '15 picked up their third national scholar-athlete honors from the CRCA. Heather Piekarz '16 collected a scholar-athlete award in 2014.
Piekarz was coxswain and Pedersen, Erin Gerrity '15 and Emma Zanazzi '15 were rowers for a nationally ranked No. 4 varsity 8 that finished third in the grand final at the NCAA Division III Women's Rowing Championships on Saturday. Hamilton ended up fourth in the team standings in the program's first NCAA championships appearance.
