A memorial service for Professor of Biology Emeritus Eugene Putala will be held on Saturday, April 23, at noon, in the College Chapel. A reception will follow at the Science Center atrium.
Putala died on April 1 after a brief illness. An avid gardener, he was a member of the Root Glen Committee and a regular speaker at events sponsored by the Hamilton Arboretum. Among the talks he gave during Reunion Weekends was a lecture about the History of the Root Glen. The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations in Professor Putala’s memory be made to the Root Glen and sent to the Office of Communications and Development.
