
Bowdoin College's Emily Simonton posted two goals and an assist and the nationally ranked No. 3 Polar Bears breezed to a 9-1 NESCAC win against the Hamilton College Continentals at Bowdoin's Ryan Field on Oct. 12.

The Polar Bears (9-1 overall, 5-1 NESCAC) extended their win streak to seven games. Bowdoin enjoyed a 35-2 shot advantage, and was awarded 10 penalty corners to Hamilton's three.
Liz Znamierowski and Rachel Kennedy scored two goals apiece for the Polar Bears. Katie Riley, Emily McColgan and Pam Herter tallied one goal each. Alexa Baumgartner and Kimmy Ganong were credited with one assist apiece. Hannah Gartner started in goal and made one save in 54-plus minutes.
Merisa Dion '17 notched her second goal this year for the Continentals (3-6, 1-5). Victoria Trentini '15 started in goal and made 14 stops in 52-plus minutes, and Hannah Keohane '17 turned away one shot the rest of the game.
Bowdoin led 5-0 at the half and 9-0 after McColgan's goal with 2:30 left in the second half. Dion scored an unassisted goal and spoiled the shutout bid with 1:12 remaining.
Hamilton travels to No. 6 Middlebury College for another conference game on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 1 p.m.
