Hamilton College's Joanna McCann '05 scored her second goal of the year, but it didn't prevent a 2-1 loss to SUNY Geneseo at Campus Road Athletic Field on Oct. 16.
Hamilton is now 1-10 overall this season with the non-league loss. Geneseo (6-8) snapped a two-game losing streak. Despite the loss, the Continentals held a 13-8 advantage in shots and enjoyed a 12-5 cushion in penalty corners.
Laura Henson '07 gave the Blue Knights a 1-0 lead on her team-high sixth goal this year with 5:53 left in the first half. Erin Brown '07 added the back-breaking goal just three seconds before halftime. Erin Wright '05 assisted on Brown's fifth goal of the season.
McCann cut the deficit in half with 17:29 left as Beth Conway '05 was credited with her second assist this year. Amanda Carver '06 made five saves for Geneseo and Polly Noble '05 stopped three shots for Hamilton. Katie Bliss '07 recorded a defensive save for the Continentals.
Hamilton will host SUNY Oneonta in another non-league game on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m.
