The Hamilton College field hockey team has moved up one spot to No. 19 in this week's National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Top 20 poll.
Hamilton (5-2 overall) split a pair of games last week with a 2-1 overtime loss at Hartwick College on Sept. 29 and a 4-2 win against Liberty League rival St. Lawrence University at home on Oct. 3. The Continentals' other loss was back on Sept. 15 against SUNY Cortland, which is 11-0 and ranked fifth.
The national ranking is believed to be the first in program history. Hamilton is on the road for two league games this weekend. The Continentals face Union College on Friday, Oct. 9, and take on No. 11 Skidmore College on Saturday, Oct. 10, in a showdown for first place in the league standings.
