Five men's basketball players were honored by the Liberty League on Feb. 24 when the league announced its 2011 end-of-season award winners.

Pat Sullivan '12 (Madison, N.J./Delbarton School) was selected the offensive player of the year, and was a unanimous choice for first team all-league. Sullivan was on the first team in 2010, and was named rookie of the year in 2009.

Ephraim McDowell '12 (Boston, Mass./Beaver Country Day School) made all-league honorable mention. Ryan Wright '14 (Upper Marlboro, Md./Bullis School) was a unanimous choice for the all-rookie team, and Wright was joined on the team by Matt Dean '14 (Franklin, Mass./Franklin HS). Greg Newton '14 (Barrington, R.I./Phillips Exeter Academy [N.H.]) was named all-rookie honorable mention.

Sullivan leads the league in scoring at 17.3 points per game, and ranks seventh with 6.3 rebounds per game, third in field goal percentage at 51.2 percent and 12th in free-throw percentage at 73.3 percent. He was named to the league's team of the week seven times this season. He scored his 1,000th career point against Rensselaer on Feb. 19 in the last game of the regular season.

McDowell is 11th in the league in scoring at 11.7 points per game. He leads the league in free-throw percentage at 84.2 percent, and ranks fifth in 3-point field goal percentage at 40.4 percent and fourth with 2.38 3-pointers made per game.

Wright is tied for eighth in the league with 2.58 assists per game, and ranks 13th with 1.12 steals per game. He has played in all 24 games and started 21. He averages 6 points per game and is ranked second on the team with 24 made 3-pointers.

Dean ranks 15th in the league with 1.12 steals per game and 18th with 4 rebounds per game. The 6-foot, 2-inch guard missed the first seven games, but started in 14 of the 17 games he played. He averages 6.4 points per game.

Newton was named the league's rookie of the week twice. He ranks third in the league with 2.82 assists per game. He averaged 6.4 points in 22 games and started six times.
