Five Hamilton College men's soccer players were honored by the Liberty League on Nov. 5 when the organization released its 2009 award winners and all-league teams.

Jesse Arroyave '11 (North Bergen, N.J./Masters School [N.Y.]) and Jon Sanford '11 (Barrington, R.I./Barrington HS) made the second team at midfield. Marcus Dormanen '10 (Hopkins, Minn./Breck School) was a second team selection on defense.

Eric Boole '13 (Medfield, Mass./Medfield HS) was honorable mention in goal. Bennett Weinerman '12 (West Hartford, Conn./William Hall HS) was honorable mention on defense.

Arroyave was second team all-league in 2008 as well. He scored one goal and was credited with two assists.

Sanford tied for sixth in the league rankings with 16 points and ended up fourth with eight goals. Four of his goals came in league play. He notched seven goals in the final eight games.

Dormanen scored two goals and assisted on another in 14 games. He helped lead a defense that ranked second in the league in goals allowed and goals against average, and posted six shutouts.

Boole ranked second in the league with 5.00 saves per game, third with five shutouts and second with a 0.64 goals against average. His save percentage was .886. He started 14 games and played more than 1,261 minutes.

Weinerman scored one goal and tied for the team lead with three assists in 14 games. He helped lead a defense that ranked second in the league in goals allowed and goals against average, and posted six shutouts.

Hamilton qualified for the league tournament for the seventh time in eight years. The Continentals lost 1-0 at Hobart College in a tournament semifinal game on Tuesday, and finished the season with a record of 9-5-1.
