Four Hamilton College athletes were honored by the Liberty League on Sept. 27 when the league announced its weekly award winners.

In field hockey, Colleen Callaghan '11 (Queensbury, N.Y./Glens Falls HS) was a co-offensive performer of the week pick, and Marisa Spagnolo '12 (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Episcopal Academy) was named defensive performer of the week. Both players were honored for the second time this year.

Leo Nizzi '14 (Frankfort, N.Y./Frankfort-Schuyler HS) was selected men's soccer rookie of the week, and Catherine Malcolm '14 (Northbridge, Mass./Whitinsville Christian HS) was a women's soccer co-rookie of the week award winner.

Callaghan scored four goals and had two assists in two league wins last weekend. She became the team's career points leader in a 7-0 win against Vassar College on Sept. 24, and currently has 94 points (31 goals, 32 assists) at Hamilton. She is tied for first in the league with eight assists and ranks third with 18 points.

Spagnolo led a defense that allowed one goal in two league wins. She added an assist in the 7-0 win against Vassar on Sept. 24.

Nizzi recorded two assists in a 1-1-0 weekend against league opponents. He assisted on the game-winning goal with 21.5 seconds left in a 2-1 victory against Skidmore College on Sept. 25. He is tied for first in the league with four assists.

Malcolm scored the lone goal in a 1-0 league win at Skidmore College on Sept. 25. The goal is her first at Hamilton.
