Assistant Professor of Mathematics Courtney Gibbons presented the Class of 1960 Lecture in the Math/Stat Faculty Research Seminar at Williams College on Nov. 18. In “Representations of the Kronecker Quiver,” she discussed commutative algebra as a new point of view for looking at representations of the quiver.

Gibbons said “there is a graded algebra R for which the category of stable R-modules that is equivalent to the category of representations of the Kronecker quiver, and, even though R-modules are of wild representation type, we can still describe classes of indecomposable R-modules in a succinct way.”

The $400 million campaign marked the most ambitious fundraising initiative in the College's history.
